The last two years have been a wake up call. The pandemic aggravated pre-existing inequalities and disproportionately impacted our patients in low wage jobs, many of whom are racialized, women, or new immigrants. This cannot continue.

Join us on May 1 for Ontario Federation of Labour’s province-wide day of action as we march alongside community and labour activists and demand decent work for our patients and our communities.

When: Sunday, May 1, 2022
Where: Find an event near you

If you don’t see an event near you, please reach out to us by replying to this email.

Our new report in the media!

Did you see our groundbreaking new report featured in the Toronto Star? Birgit Umaigba, RN, Dr. Amit Arya, and Dr. Danyaal Raza, spoke about their first hand experience seeing the  inequitable health impacts of low wages, precarious employment, and inadequate workplace protections.

If we have learnt one thing from the pandemic, it’s that labour is a key social determinant of health. The recommendations in our report lays out exactly how we can address poor working conditions to build a just post-pandemic future.

Thank you for endorsing our demands for decent work. So far, 100+ individuals and 30+ organizations have endorsed the report. Please consider supporting our decent work demands. If you haven't already endorsed, please consider supporting our decent work demands and sharing with your networks. If you are connected with an organization that can endorse, please get in touch!

I am excited about what’s ahead because we have a real chance to show up for our community. I hope to see you on May 1 - please let me know if you can be there!

In solidarity,

Yasmin
