Phone Zap To Support Public Health Nurses on Strike!
Sep
06
On August 21st, fifty public health nurses who provide care to 200,000 residents in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties went on strike. They are fighting for a fair contract that includes better wages to keep up with the cost of living.
The Prince Edward and Hastings counties board of health has refused to provide these nurses with a decent offer and appear unconcerned about the desperate need to retain hardworking staff. These nurses provide vital, sometimes lifesaving services to their communities.
Join us for a phone zap to demand a better deal for nurses, and better health care services for everyone.
When: Wednesday, September 6th, 12 - 1pm ET
Where: Zoom (a link will be sent to your email when you RSVP)
What is a phone zap?
A phone zap is a simple and effective way to communicate a message to public officials. We will gather online via Zoom with health workers and community members from across the province. Together, we will call members of the board of health to demand a fair deal for these nurses that would allow them to get back to serving the communities they so deeply care for.
Please share this event far and wide!
