Day of Action for Paid Sick Days
May
21
Contact: Rana ·
Let's raise our voices on May 21st to demand at least 21 paid emergency days: 7 permanently, plus an additional 14 during outbreaks.
Too many workers and patients still lack the basic protection of paid sick days. Nurses, cleaners, paramedics, garbage workers, grocery store workers, and so many more, cannot afford to stay home without pay, even if they have symptoms.
1) Take action on May 21 for 21 paid emergency days.
- Chalk your sidewalks.
- Make a banner for your window, balcony or porch.
- Call your provincial representative and your federal member of parliament.
- Change your social media profile pic.
- Download a poster or flyers here and put them up in your neighbourhood.
- Bang pots and pans from your window or balcony and post a pic on social media.
- Chant from your window between 7 and 8 pm!
2) Have your voice heard: visit 15andfairness.org to sign the petition or call your local Member of Provincial Parliament!
3) Spread the word!
- Share this event with your friends and neighbours!
- Snap a selfie or video to capture your support - then share on social media using the hashtag #PaidSickLeaveSavesLives
