Health workers took action on Status for All. What’s next?

Our open letter supporting Status for All signed by nearly 1,000 health workers across the country made big news. We were on the radio and in the papers.

But that’s not enough. Whether decision makers see our message depends on how many clicks these news clips have. It has been 10 months since Prime Minister Trudeau committed to creating a regularization plan that would provide permanent residency to undocumented migrants. Any more delay can have a devastating impact on the migrant patients we serve.

Here’s what you can do right now - click on each of these links and then share on social media. Each share and each click matters.

This past Sunday, migrants and supporters knocked on 32 cabinet ministers’ offices across the country to demand immediate action on delivering full and permanent immigration to all. We were at the Toronto action in front of Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland’s office.

Migrants are now waiting to hear back from cabinet ministers. Until then, we must continue to use our voice to apply pressure on the federal government. If you haven’t already, please sign and share the open letter demanding Status for All.

You’re invited: Health Worker Organizing Meeting

Now is an important moment for health workers to get together and discuss upcoming advocacy efforts. As you can tell, the campaign for Status for All is in full gear. On top of that, Ontario’s healthcare system is on the brink of collapse, along with a deepening affordability crisis.

We know who is impacted most by all of this - our patients who are already marginalized, working low-wage jobs. Now is the time for health workers to get involved on the ground and advocate for better protections for our patients.

Please join us at the Health Worker Organizing Meeting on Thursday, October 27, at 6pm ET to discuss next steps for ongoing advocacy.
