Outreach Event: Health Students for Decent Work

Students from various health fields are organizing an outreach event on Hospital Row this month!

We'll be handing out leaflets and connecting with folks in the community to talk about paid sick days and supporting nurses in their fight for higher wages and better working conditions.

After 3 arduous years of the pandemic, the many crises that healthcare workers and their patients are experiencing is connected to the lack of decent work in Ontario. These inadequacies include the 3 temporary paid sick days (Workers Income Protection Benefit) implemented in 2021 expiring in March of this year, Doug Ford's alarming announcement of privatizing our healthcare system. This is why it's so important to support Nurses in their current bargaining process for better working conditions.
